Our offerings:

Full Service

Everything essential for your childs’ needs is right here.

  • Gro Early Learning offers a premium full-service care for the ages of 6 weeks to 6 years; for families living or commuting through the Mount Isa and Moranbah regions. We are open all year except public holidays. We are family owned and operated. All food, nappies, sunscreen and wipes are provided; as well as a free t-shirt and hat every year on enrolment.

Kitchen

Crafting homemade nourishment, every meal, every day. Fuelling growing minds with every bite.

  • Our focus on nutrition & sustainability is all about helping our children build a healthy lifelong relationship with food.

All meals (including morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea) are prepared on-site daily by our qualified chef, who uses tasty, wholesome and nutritional ingredients to keep active and hungry tummies satisfied. OUr chef cooks with fresh ingredients including herbs the children have grown and tended to themselves.

Our menus conform to the Australian Children’s Education & Care Quality Authority (ACECQA); and also to the Australian Dietary Guidelines for children. This ensures all our GRO friends are enjoying a well balanced, daily menu to help their growing bodies!

Nature Play

Unleashing imaginations in our nature play haven - where water sprays, sand invites and adventure blossoms beneath the canopy of endless opportunities.

  • We believe children need access to natural spaces for optimum learning and development. We provide dedicated time for our children of all ages to spread their wings and play outside to grow in a quality natural environment with fresh air, native flora, and new experiences.

Branches of Learning

  • ¹ Mini Master Chef

Where little chefs create big flavours, one recipe at a time.

Our Mini Master Chef program is focused on educating your little one about healthy food habits to help them make smart food choices well into their future.

    The benefits of this program:

    • creates adventurous eaters: children are more keen to try new dishes if they are made by them.

    • teaches responsibility: cooking is a good way to teach children how to clean up after themselves.

    • develops good hygience: a great way to teach children how to properly wash their hands, especially before handling food.

In addition to the delicious homemade food on offer, our inhouse Chef takes the time to implement Mini Master Chef Cooking Classes; passing their invaluable knowledge about food and nutrition, through a fund and interactive cooking class.

  • ² STEM Exploration

where little minds dream, explore and engineer the future.

Just like a stem helps to support an elevate a tree, an introduction to STEM skills (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths); can help your child prepare for a holistic educational future.

Our rich STEM program encourages children to explore, ask questions, develop concepts of critical thinking and problem solving skills. Our Educator interactions encourage children to think creatively, solve problems, take calculated risks and discover new ways of doing things.

GRO provides a wide variety of resources to promote the children’s interest of STEM, including science experiments, the use of an interactive Smart Board and Laptops and problem solving resources to promote the use of mathematical and thinking skills.

  • ³ Reading & Writing Skills

    GRO’s Learning Frameworks

At the heart of all GRO’s programs, are frameworks that develop our Centre philosophy. This allows the children to flourish and grow their needs of reading and writing.

We adopt three (3) frameworks to support your child’s reading and writing development: 1. Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), 2. Queensland Kindergarten Learning Goals (QKLG) and 3. Belonging, Being and Becoming.

Through a play-based program children are provided with an enriched daily program that promotes the use of reading and writing skills - from early grasping in the Nursery room, to pencil control in the Kindergarten Room.

Reading to infants and children creates early memories of enjoyment and love of books. Our Community library provides opportunities to fall in love with these core skills.

  • ⁴ School-Ready Skills Program

Preparing for the schooling years ahead

Through commitment, dedication and partnership with families and local schools, our Kindergarten program prepares your child to be confident, strong and resilient; ready to conquer the world, through a developed sense of wellbeing and connection to the world around them.

Our highly skilled Early Childhood Teachers (who hold a Bachelor of Early Childhood Education) and Educators, provide a gentle transition from Curriculum guidance of the Early Years Learning Framework, to their Curriculum with Pre-Prep learning from the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Goals. By following the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Goals, our Kindergarten program provides your child with all the necessary skills to, not only be academically ready, but also socially and emotionally ready for the learning journey that school provides.

Our Early Childhood Teachers develop strong connections with the local primary schools, organising transition visits for the children to discover their next adventure. This allows them to meet key teaching figures from the local schools and to develop familiarity with their new surroundings ahead of their upcoming big transition!
